‘Bandar Band’ to vie in Turkey

Iranian feature film ‘Bandar Band’ is scheduled to open the Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian feature film ‘Bandar Band’ is scheduled to open the Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey.

Manijeh Hekmat’s latest directorial experience will vie at the eighth feature films section of the 8th edition of the event.

The film will compete with nine other films from around the world to receive the best film award.

‘Bandar Band’ is a road movie that depicts flooded landscapes of Iran. The movie is filled with music.

Reza Koulqani, Amir-Hossein Taheri, Mahdieh Mousavi and Pegah Ahangarani, the director’s daughter are some of the cast members of the flick.

The film has already participated in a number of global film events, including the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada and the Zurich Film Festival in Germany.

The purposes of the International Bosphorus Film Festival are to contribute to the development of motion pictures that have ethical, esthetical and technical integrity in Turkey and in the World and to support young producers and directors materially and morally in producing new movies.

The eighth edition of the event is slated for October 23 -30, 2020.
